A Brief Review of Zinc Oxide Properties

Abstract : Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has a wide number of properties which has gained substantial attention from researchers over the past few years. ZnO, a well-known n-type semiconductor which owned wide band-gap of 3.2 eV is suitable for various kinds of applications. ZnO has extensively used or various applications such as semiconductor, gas sensor, photo-detector, solar cell, power generator, anti-bacterial agent, light emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, piezoelectric, photo-printing and wave-guides. The noteworthy properties of ZnO include abundance in nature, inexpensive, non-toxicity, great chemical stability and flexibility to doping. Besides, the wide usage of ZnO in current studies is also due to its unique properties such as electrical, mechanical, chemical and optical that are significantly different from those of counterpart. Therefore, in order to know more about ZnO, the various properties of ZnO will be introduced in this review.
